Gent Treadly has gone down countless roads and stormed the gates of heaven during its 20 years as a band (yikes!). Having toured with the late great Vince Welnick of The Grateful Dead for many years, Gent Treadly continues to carry the flame – a diehard acolyte in search of the ultimate groove. Founded by bassist Greg Koerner (a veteran of countless New York bands and a “phil-in” for the Dark Star Orchestra) and drummer Tommy Mbatswami Kaelin (Dreamspeak, The Hatters) the band has included a cornucopia of jamband talent. Veteran CT jammer Shawn “Chewy” Chua holds down the guitar chair.Mike Jaimes (Native) David Berg (DSO), Eric Kalb (Sharon Jones & The Dap Kings, Deep Banana Blackout, John Scofield) , Zac Lasher and Kevin Griffin of U-Melt, Abou Diarra (The Wailers, Easy Star All Stars), Adam Douglass Anastasia Rene and Matt Zekala are some of the core members who have made Gent Treadly what it is.The band is frequently rounded out by special guests Peter Levin on keyboards (Gregg Allman, God Street Wine, Blind Boys of Alabama), Buddy Cage on pedal steel (New Riders of the Purple Sage, Bob Dylan) and Kenny Brooks (Ratdog) and has toured extensively as the backing band for Vince Welnick, Charles Neville, Garth Hudson, Henry Butler and many other luminaries.
